Professional visits

Professional visits (Back to top)

The SLA for legal visits to commence is 09:30 and it is expected that there will be no delays or closures for access to justice throughout the business day. Official visits are to be conducted in an open environment within sight but not hearing of staff, unless there is a security risk requiring a closed visit.

Prohibited items (Back to top)

Legal staff have been granted central authorisation to bring IT equipment for the purpose of visiting clients, no other official visitor has been authorised to carry IT into the court custody suite.

Visitors are to read and adhere to the prohibited items notice on entry and are not to bring any items that pose a safety or security risk into the court custody suite. Supplier staff have the right to confiscate any items deemed a risk and can refuse entry.

Searching of professional visitors (Back to top)

All visitors to the court custody suite should be prepared to be searched. Staff will guide visitors through the searching process and communicate the steps required prior to entry. Further guidance is available through the management of security of visits policy framework.
